General:
- Number of Weeks: 16 (Four months)
- Classes per Week: 02 (On Saturday and Sunday)
- Class Duration: 03 hours
- Total Classes: 32
I have divided the course into three components are as follows
- Component 01 Project Management - I: In this component we are going to cover first seven chapters of 'The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)'. Chapter titles are Introduction, Project Life Cycle and Organization, Project Management Processes for a project, Project Integration Management, Project Scope Management, Project Time Management, and Project Cost Management. This component will spread over the first eight weeks (16 classes; 48 hours).
- Component 02 Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007: By the end of Component 01, the participants would have gained the necessary understanding to learn Project Standard 2007. It will provide the participants time necessary to assimilate the contents of the first component and will learn the practical aspects of the same through implementation in Project Standard 2007. (Project 2010 is already in the market. However, Project Standard 2007 is selected due to online support available for self directed learning. Further more, after learning Project Standard 2007, transition to Project Standard 2010 is easy.) This component will spread over four weeks (08 classes; 24 hours).
- Component 03 Project Management - II: In this component we are going to cover last five chapters of 'The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)'. Chapter titles are Project Quality Management, Project Human Resource Management, Project Communication Management, Project Risk Management and Project Procurement Management. This component will spread over the last four weeks (08 classes; 24 hours).
Note:
The 96 hours are only for in class instruction. However, the participant will be provided links to a number of free, authentic, and tested online resources to augment the class instruction hours. In short, the participant will have the multiple times of class instruction learning opportunity.
As far as the course contents are concerned, for every lecture there is introduction, specified objectives, topics to be covered, readings before lecture, relevant online videos, case studies (not for MS Project Standard 2007 lectures), and a list articles, tutorials, practical exercises, and readings. I will be sharing them in my up coming posts.
