Project Risk Management (Chapter 11 of the PMBOK® Guide Fourth Edition) presents an overview of project risk management area and discussion on its constituent project management processes. A project manager has to ensure that his/her project ends successfully. A risk, in the sense of threat or opportunity, can significantly affect a project success, thereby requiring due consideration on the part of project manager. This chapter provides a framework for handling risks on an individual project - risk management planning, risks identification & analysis, risks prioritization, development of response strategies, and ongoing monitoring and controlling of risks.
