Islamic Banking

The foundation of Islamic banking system is based on the Islamic faith and must stay within the limits of Shariah or Islamic law. All of its actions and deeds should be according to Ishariah.  Shariah is the Arabic word means the way to the source of life and is now used to refer to legal system in keeping with the code of behavior called for by the Holy Quran.

Islamic banking has the same purpose as conventional banking except that it operates is according to the rules of Shariah, known as Fiqh-al-Muamalat (Islamic rules on transactions). The basic principle of Islamic banking is the sharing of profit and loss and the prohibition of riba. Common terms used in Islamic banking include profit sharing (<Mudharabah), leasing (Ijarah). Safekeeping (Wadiah), and joint venture (Musharakah) all dealing, business approach, transaction, investments focus, product feature, responsibility are derived from the shariah law, which lead to the significant differences in many part of the operations.

  • Interest free commercial banking

Who can apply?

Candidate with BA degree can apply for the course; preference shall be given to those who have the banking experience especially in Islamic sector.
